it runs until it explodes. current in the LC circuit is detected by a sense resistor and a bootstrapped amplifier which switch the complementary pair on and off at the LC resonant frequency.
can't seem to get enough gain into the bootstrap circuit though. the drive output needs to switch exactly as the current crosses zero.
could do it precisely with an opamp but that's easy
