I get the integral part. But why do you say, "sum"?

Yeah I guess that’s not really right, area under the curve is only a sum when using discrete unit time intervals.

Also by saying "sum" it gives the impression that it is acting as a summing op amp (which is different). That is misleading, so I will update it now.
