This circuit works but is perhaps not the most practical in terms of efficiency. In the 'off' state, the power supply must supply 2,000,000 amps at 2v ( so 4,000,000 watts). This is about as much power as 1000 homes consume. If we are being given the freedom to use physical power switches, why not put the switches in parallel with each other and then put that pair of parallel switches in series with the output and say that they are 'ON' when open and 'OFF' when closed. Problem solved, it can only ever draw as much power as the LED wants to draw because the supply is not being shorted in the off state.

https://everycircuit.com/circuit/4596162197454848 something like this, the only reason for the 1uOhm resistor between is that EC throws a tantrum with topology without it, in practice if you made this circuit it would work perfectly fine without it.
