This circuit is used for street lights...a LDR (light dependent resistor) is used for this purpose whose R decreases with increase in light (at day time) and R is max at night..In this circuit increase R(for night) and decease R(for day) by potentiometer

How did you changed the potentiometer values? Mine is always 1K.
