Fade in and out by switch on off

When the switch is on inner leds fade in quicker then outter leds.when switch is off leds fade opposite to switch on. leds are connect in parallel. I figured that by changing the capacitors value determines the fading speed. C2 should be greater then C1 to get the fade effect. My intensions were to make an Arc reactor( Iron man ) fading effect. so any suggestions advice help ideas and criticism will be appreciated much. thanks

Not sure exactly what you're after, but I don't imagine you want to be pressing a switch on and off all night at the Halloween party! I have a couple circuits that might work for ya, and both are adjustable so we could dial in exactly what you want. Use the search tab and look for "quadrafade" and/or "double fade". Or just click my screen name anywhere you see it and scroll through my circuits that way. Hope it helps!..

I must say Mr. Sine_eyed that you have some impressive and useful circuit skills. I'm just now beginning to learn on my own everything that has to do with what you seem to so darn skilled at. And even though an iron man costume with leds as an Arc reactor would be awesome. my real intensions for this circuit is to use it as a simple latching switch with a fade effect on the power button, that would power a variable power supply (but with less leds, I exaggerate things sometimes)that I intend to build as my first project. yaaaaay! (high 5 lol). but your "quadrafade" mighty impressive and thanks for your help, it is truly appreciated.

High 5 back atcha! And thanks for the compliment- always good to hear when someone appreciates your work. Honestly though, my circuits are just fun and games compared to a lot of the other guys- they really know their stuff! But ya know what? I'm like you- learning on my own and believe it or not I started to study electronics and circuitry not much more than a year ago! Yep, I was standing where you are today wondering how the hell all this stuff works! But I got this app, studied and researched every avenue of interest to try and gain that understanding. Boy, do I got a long way to go lol! There's lots of info out there so stay with it, ask questions, experiment and have fun..
