Simple capacitor and diode study

I'm studying electronics and checking the behaviour of capacitors and diodes in paralalell.

For DC adding capacitor doesn't make any difference, atleast not to this particular circuit. In DC current/voltage analysis capacitor is considered as a break in circuit.

This circuit can be illuminating as to the nature of capacitors. To improve it, simply add a switch in series with your voltage source. Turning the switch on and off will demonstrate the storage ability of the capacitor. Adding a resistor in series with the capacitor will make this even more obvious, as the capacitor will both charge and discharge much slower than without.
