Using an aluminum and a platinum electrode immersed in a solution of ammonium phosphate. A 5 X 7 inch battery jar with small aluminum electric light shade immersed in ammonium phosphate as the aluminum electrode. Platinum wire was not available so German silver wire was fed through hole in lamp shade cover about 1/4 inch below the solution.
This interrupter is connected in series with the primary of the induction coil and a water resistance as this is 110 volt AC circuit.
Chemical action will slowly eat off the German silver wire and you have to gradually feed in more wire. This instrument did give good service.
