Regulating of current source You can see behavior of arrays of cells. And why partial shading is affecting whole array. Diodes are solution to bypass shaded cell, and still is possible to get 90% of total power. Without that bypass diodes, only one shaded cell, in the  all other cells current is starting floating internally, which is making power loss and burn cell. And You get current from the shaded cell.
