Zenner Diode Example

This Zenner diode will not let current pass until the voltage rises above 2V. This is because its breakdown voltage is set to 2V. The transistor will not allow current to flow unless the voltage at the base is above 0.7V. This means the LED will flash only after the voltage is above 2V.
