This simulation shows the working principle of Infineon's MERUS multi-level amplfiers. This entry shows one half-bridge, the combination of two half-bridges (BTL) will give a 5-level modulated output signal. Advantages over traditional class-D include LC-filter removal and strong reduction of 'idle' switching losses. This gives a more compact and more efficient audio solution.
