Transistor current source attributed to Einar Abell via EDN.com.  Layout demonstrates use of a ramp generator source (0 to 24 VDC) and compares behavior of two lamps.  One branch is driven by the voltage source and a 1 k resistor. The second branch is driven by the same source connected through the active current limiter.
