I have a good slayer exciter setup. I know my system up and down. I have a good 1 inch spark from the stay top wire. I usually do not place a toride on secondary. I want to modulate sound into my curcuit now. Its my next goal. If any one could just help from here. Thanks

So let me get thia straight. You have a step up transformer, that outputs a spark gap, and you want the spark to produce sound?

Correct

Well, the salyer exciter is a little problem. I mean you bave to make a midi interrupter, a very easy circuit, but the problem is the slayer itself. I think that the interrupter should controll the transistor's base, disconnecting it from the resistor... Or the interrupter should disconnect the entire power supply...

Thebugger, if I can, the slayer exciter is a kind of tesla coil, which are quite different from normal transformers.

Shoot not sounding good

I know, I also tried to make my slayer a 'speacker' but it didn't work because I broke my 555 timer interrupter. There are videos about a modification of the salyer exciter that can be used with an interrupter

Man this is disapointing. Dont you hV flyback singing arc curcuit?
WTFCircuit

Flybacks are just "regular" transformers, the slayer is quite different to them

I understand the differance.....im very familiar with the slayer.....ive made a high voltage power supply...i followed ludic sciences instructional video. I just want to modulate a flyback ot slayer.

A flyback is very easy to modulate with the correct driver, the slayer... mmm i don't know

I'm not saying that a musical slayer is stupid or things like that. I mean that I don't know how to do that with the classical slayer. Just for clarity

I hear ya wtf. No offense taken. Wanna school me in the flyback driver curcuit?

When i did it i just used an old florecent fixture. Nothing fancy

I got a driver from a my friend which sounds great without interferences, if well tuned, check it out: http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6564891660910592. I can also link you a yt video of it ;-)

Nice. Now there is something else quite funny that you can do. If you have an incandescent light bulb attach it to the top wire. If your slayer is powerful enough you will see some arcs inside the bulb, but be careful because it can get quite hot.

I've been trying different incandescent bulbs but I've lost all my good TIP 31 transistors. I'm using n23904 now.

If you want I can give you a circuit for a SSTC more powerful than the slayer but a bit more expensive

What's a not logic gate? And a new channel midget..... Witch to use.? And why is there 2 voltage sources?

Mosfet*
WTFCircuit

Well, the not gate is used to drive the gate of the MOSFET. The MOSFET is used because it can drain more current than a bjt so you will get more power, I suggest to use a irfp250 n-channel MOSFET. Finally the two voltage sources are one to drive the not gate and the other to power the transistor. You can use just one but it has to be 12V. Anyway you can use a higher voltage at the primary coil and a lm7812, a linear voltage regulator, to give power to the not gate. Also the not gate can be turned on and of with an interrupter and even sound modulated
dracp

So a not gate is a driver for the Mosfet?
WTFCircuit
Yes in this case
dracp
OK so this gate is like a truth table
WTFCircuit
Yes, also it is used to invert the signal from the coil to create a 360° phase shift. In this way the two coils are perfectly coupled so you would get more energy transferred to the secondary and so bigger sparks. The big advantage of this design id that it's very easy to modulate, also with sound

I'm so making one. In the process now. Thanks WTF I'll get back to you.
