This circuit simulates the oscillation that occurs within an LRC circuit. This electric oscillation behaves in the same way as a mechanical one. Therefore, for the equation of motion of a damped mechanical system, mx''(t) + cx'(t) + kx(t) = 0, has an equivalent of: Lq''(t) + Rq'(t) + (1/C)q(t) = 0. Where: m - mass c - damping coefficient k - spring coefficient x - displacement L - inductance R - resistance C - capacitance q - charge
