Turn on the SPST switch, it steps up from 5v dc to 20kv ac. It converts from 5v dc to 5V ac oscillator with transistors inverting back and forth to cause the ac impulses to less turns of coil of the transformer magnetic field collapsing to more turns of coil. It will give you quite a sting with this voltage.
