“cannot find solution” message pops up when the circuit is opened, recheck circuit to resolve error message.

Just start with the switch opened. Seems like you have not built such complicated circuitry yet...

That's right. It should start with an open switch. Use the capacitor to provide the connection.

@pkzoltn, if you could open the switch then save it again people will not have the error message. It’ll help people not that familiar with EC yet.

Why is this called a 555 timer? It is in I guess you could say Astable mode. Here's a 555 in Astable mode _ _ http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6694439557529600 and here's a 555 timer for being ON for a period of time. _ http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5676455898644480 _ _ Just hope it clarifies a bit.

Look at 555 data sheet, it’s says 555 Timer I/C.

It’s a timer I/c that can be used in many different circuit configurations.

Imagine that only the two resistors 24.2K and 10K as well as the 40uF capacitor are added. The others are part of the 555 microchip.
