I thought current flows only from the collector to emitter so why is current flowing out of the collector?

In a bjt current can actually flow out of the emitter. Ofcourse, circuits are designed such that that doesn't happen. It causes damage to the bjt.

Your base is at 10V and collector is at zero. Your bjt is essentially a double diode now.
