Bought an arc lighter to use as a high voltage power supply for a small, low power spark gap tesla coil I'm building. (Check out Plasma Channel om youtube if you haven't already. He has a video detailing how to do this as well as several other diy projects and demonstrations worth checking out). I bought a cheap brand arc lighter for $20 and removed the circuit board. After tracing the circuit, this was the result. Pretty standard circuit most hobbyist would recognize as the most basic method for getting high voltage from a flyback. Normally its not the most reliable circuit but at this low of power its surprisingly efficient and works quite well, to my surprise. I didnt design this, just traced it and uploaded it to EC.
