Why not, an inverting Schmitt trigger 6V supply BC547 B type will run in real close to 1Hz

This works except I used a 9v battery. I also changed the 4.7k base bias to 1k and the capacitor to 4.7uF. Also changed the 100R for 330R to increase the lifespan of the LED.
