This works fine with real components (NE555) on a breadboard using 5 V or 9V.
Not so with this simulator.
I don't see why.
Changing R1 & R2 to 10k changes behavior a little but is far from perfect.
Varying voltage to 5V just dims the LED.
Doesn't seem right to me, though.
