Hi, For IR tracking, is this circuit correct for overloading the leds? Thanks for your ideas/help!

Depends on the type of Leds devices are going to be used. From the frequency the 555 is running it is not a visual device, so it would pay to look at the devices specifications. By the way, according to ElectroDroid, the official values are; standard red 1.7v @ 10mA, bright red 2.0v @ 10mA, super bright red 1.75v @ 20mA.

Thanks BillyT! The choosen IR leds are 20 or 100 mA, depending of the model. According to the datasheet, they are able to be driven with highest I(f) for short period, so I guess it's ok (30 instead of 20 mA in this specific circuit).
