Your mosfets aren't really suited to the task either. Power mosfet specs are more like 5mm width and a threshold of about 3V. Also adding a body diode and gate capacitance (btwn gate and source) of about 1-2nF makes for a much more realistic device. For more info look up the datasheet for a popular device like the IRFP460 or IRFZ44N.
