Weird topology though- the emitters aren't tied to ground. Instead, a fourth capacitor is used to ground the circuit. It must be intended to be used with a dual supply..

@sine, You can declare ground at any point in your circuit as long its the only ground you reference to. Just unwire this ground here and see the circuit again..... now wire the ground wereevery you like and let it blink!

Ok i tried it, tied the ground icon to a couple stupid places that have no business being grounded and sure enough, you're right. I know that with this simulator having a ground reference is a must, but I've built plenty of real life circuits and not used a special grounding wire screwed to the nearest piece of metal, and they work fine..

Yes, the simulation itself does not need a ground. Its just to reference the voltage values for you. And placing the ground at not common points makes it irritating in interpretation
