Here are examples on how to use a NPN BJT, PNP BJT, N-Channel MOSFET and P-Channel MOSFET. You can also disconnect the pull up and pull down resistors on the MOSFET circuits, open the switch to the gates, shake the screen to induce noise and see what happens. Without the pull down resistor in the N-Channel MOSFET circuit, if the lamp is already on, opening the switch to the gate will not turn off the lamp. And then if you induce noise, the lamp will go off. Without the pull up resistor In the P-Channel MOSFET circuit, similarly if the lamp is already on, opening the switch to gate will fail to turn the lamp off. And when the lamp is already off and the switch to gate is open, inducing noise will turn the lamp on.
