A voltage follower is a simple operational amplifier (op-amp) circuit that produces an output signal that has the same amplitude as the input signal. It's also known as a unity-gain buffer, buffer amplifier, or isolation amplifier. A voltage follower doesn't increase or decrease the amplitude of the input signal, and it doesn't filter out high-frequency noise. However, it does improve impedance relationships.
