First ever transistor circuit

Slightly confused. The 1v circuit isn't floating sperate from the 5v circuit it would seem.

815mV are much enough to not go into saturation. But you need to turn 5V supply and LEDs 180° to be in common emitter circuit. The resistor must be <=150 ohm for 2V LEDs @20mA, check this http://everycircuit.com/circuit/4561597841539072

Made the changes.. I can understand why you said to reverse the leds and the psu now.

No it's still there, just go to the circuit, alter resistors while watching voltages and currents.
