Ive been looking for this for ages! Many thanks. Im a noob at electronics but would like to know if i can use this to run an induction motor off dc? If not in its current state what would need changing? Im trying to make en electric bike out of old parts i have laying around including a 230v 1.2a 60hz induction motor. Again many thanks

i don't think it'll have the nuts to run 300W output

might be possible if you series connect dc batteries to get the voltage up. finding coils to suit is going to be a pig of a job though, and it's not going to be very efficient. you might be better off looking at dc motors

Thanks for the reply @faceblast. Everything ive seen says the same. Guess ill just use the winding of the induction motor for starship coil experiments :p

Great circuit. What purpose serves the transformer at the operating voltage? Is it some kind of buffer or a filter or something different?

The problem with these circuits is that they're set to an extremely low transient time. This one runs at 20 microseconds per second. That's like a 50000th of a second! You would need a TON of capacitance for a low-hertz circuit (like about 10Hz).
