gate volts to source volts is usually maxed at 20V or you'll blow the gate. this common emitter drive will work ok up to about 10kHz

IRFP250 won't blow. @faceblast, what is the reason for waveform distortion at high frequencies here?

Yeah, faceblast is correct I added an optional zener.
