Qassis' zener diode voltage regulator play. 
Change DC input voltage - output the same.
Change zener breakdown voltage - output voltage will match.

If you replace vcc generator with vac generator, setting DC component to 30 vcc and sine amplitude to 1 volt for example, to simulate variable current in input, you can see little output oscillations , showing zener stabilize property . But first resistor value depends from current you have to flow inside zener, depending from zener power, and current through load. If load current is variable in a long range, there will be some issue with this circuit

R=(Vin - Vz)/(Az+Aload) . Usually Az is about 15mA for 1/2watt Zener, 25mA for 1watt Zener. Usually Aload bust be less Az to have good effect. If needed, is possible use a transistor and zener wired to its bsse tto increase current.
