Mosfet is a transistor switch that can controls 1> amp. Independence how you manipulate the base(gate) it allows the current to flow from the drain to source.

This is a common drain topology which is not the best choice to switch a load just on and off. If you have planed to dim the LED its probably ok in analoge mode. Better is to use a common source topology where the load is in the drain path. Note: even in common source there are ways to dim a LED, but it not analoge it would be for example PWM or a first order SDM to modulate its brightness. Let me know if you have question in this peaceful newly Everycircuit atmosphere ;-)

I understand what u saying, but I have it like this for a purpose. Because I am dealing with freshman; they understanding like this. Later, they can explore new ways.

You make fun again. So if someone doesn’t know at all what is a transistor or a mosfet; do you have better example?

BS170 is a mosfet and cant control 1A. Wtf is "freshman" pipo?
