A Triboelectric Effect Question. Input Required

Using a capacitor of the electrostatically charging variety; if I were to mount a uncharged, isolated capacitor to the outside of my vehicle insulated to prevent contact with the vehicle, 1: Would it gain a charge via friction with the atmosphere throughout my day of 80mph driving? 2: would the size, length, and shapes(eg. connected/soldered to stranded wire, frayed) of the leads improve any charge transfer between the atmosphere/capacitor? Feedback desired -EC users are the best ...and they know it.

Im not an expert in atmospheric power but, why would a charge build up due to friction? If anything connect a terminal to the car and have the other terminal as high up as possible. There is a potential difference between the atmosphere and the ground. Im sure there is a way that suits your needs but, I dont know enough about generating static electricity.

Just ideas based off of how many vehicles have methods that disperse built up charges to protect sensitive equipment. Like aircraft, and ambulances chain that drags on the ground.

As in static dischargers.

In Japan they have created a car that uses the triboelectric effect created by a special cloth that, moved by the wind, rubbing on a metal surface and, if i remember correctly, this car is a hybrid one
