GREEN Push button powers a control relay to a lamp that represents a motor starter that starts a green diode that represents the motor with a RED emergency stop push button.

Please do not attempt this circuit in real life. There is quite a few problems with your circuit, and some of them have the potential to kill you. 1. If this circuit is for a motor vehicle, what you are showing as a relay would have to be a power contactor (solinoid in mechanic speak). 2. This contactor should not be latched as you have shown. When your engine starts, you let go of the starter by reflex, if the contactor is latched on, the human reflex to hit the unlatch is a bit slower and before you do the starter motor is now a generator pumping massive amounts of current back into the battery...BOOM... 3. The circuit as shown, has before the starter switch is pressed the battery shorted out through the contactor, again....BOOM...

Decent example of 3-wire control circuit, definitely not of any practical use in it's current configuration though.

Remove the ground on the other terminal of your relay ... it serves no purpose (that I see) other than being a short to ground and setting things on fire. Acceptable only if you are The Prodigy.
