this is a transformerless battery charger, the three zener diodes represents the 3v , 6v and 12 v batteries

Place a dc source as batt dummy and proof the charger will stopp charging if nominal voltage is reached. And proof the naximum charging current is limited

This circuit can charge 3 v to 12 v Batteries at 400 mA.

I guess you don't have the circuit available, right? But if i am wrong, could you measure the peak current and compare it with the simulation?
