This isn’t supposed to be practical or anything like that so if it has some weird design quirks that don’t make sense then just know it isn’t supposed to work in real life.

Why are split power supply's used?

Because the speaker has to get current pushed into it and pulled out of it repeatedly and it won’t do so well if it’s constantly getting current pushed into it, and in order to make current be constantly pushed into it and pulled back out again it needs positive and negative voltages and there need to be two separate power supplies to provide the positive and negative voltages.

But jason, the current source PNP at the output stage or VAS is ridiculous. Change its beta and see whats happend.
