The zener (or a TL431) trimmed by the left pot creates the Vref, which represents Imax. The right pot sets a the current to sink as 1V/1A. The function of left (trim) and right (set) pots are interchangeable.

I have a bunch of RFP70N06 and a couple of 47N60C3 and want to set up the circuit to behave as one o them.

I look at the on resistance charts, then set up a circuit and tweak the settings until it's kinda close. l

eg IRFP250 is very roughly 200um wide, 1ua per V², 3.6V turn on
