Practical circuits can be easily realized using IC CMOS inverters. Lower frequency versions may work with an op-amp as well. The waveform at the inverter output is probably clean enough for most applications but if a very clean sinusoid is needed the tank inductor can be replaced by the primary of an RF transformer with the output taken from its secondary. Adding another cap in series with the inductor forms a Clapp oscillator. If said cap is a varactor diode a VCO can be realized.
