Logic NOT with MOSFET

I've learned this at my electronics lab, ELE224L. Adjust the Gate voltage from 0 to 5V and watch the voltmeter.

 In your schematic when your gate voltage is altered, both gates are partly open together for a while...That is bad because current can then flow directly from the battery  + to -  thus making a short circuit. (which could blow the mosfets etc). Each mosfet needs to close just before the other opens in order to avoid that with cmos. Swing the gate voltage carefully back and forth between 2v and 4v on my adjusted circuit and see how both gates work properly here as an on/off push pull. Then do that on your schematic and see the difference.  http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6028307724500992  When such mosfets are working rapidly you may not see the difference, but always remember to carefully alter them as described above to get them working properly together without blowing something.
