when the switch is open,this circuit has power factor φ=0.3 which is really bad.The real Power is 897 W rms while the reactive power is 2.85 kVar.The source current is 30 A rms.If we close the switch,the capacitor will produce the reactive power required by the inductor.The power factor will rise to 0.99 ,The source will produce only real power which will lead to mimize the source current down to only 9 A rms.Try it yourself :-D .BTW i bought a tablet and i can't remember my password to login to my original account(CrazyEce91) is there any way to retrieve it???
