The circuit generates triangular wave i.e. 0 to 9 and 9 to 0 decimal 

Connect DAC at the output and obtain analog triangular wave

If you add an R2R ladder to the output of the counter, you can get an analogue output ( with steps ) by adding a lowpass filter you could get close to a real triangle wave.
