These are polarized simple 3 volt 690 hertz square wave relaxation oscillators that are activated by pushing the buttons. Once started, they will send the square waves generated to a 3 part filter RC circuit to convert it into a sine wave.

Having a second source is not necessary. Just connect the tops of both switches together to one source and remove the other.
