What do the pins 1 2 4 8 do? They don't seem to work as an input or output

They are input pins that work in conjunction with the 'load' pin to set the counter to a number. Pins 1,2,4,8 set the binary number, and a high pulse on the 'load' pin puts this binary number on the output of the counter. Give it a try, and tell me what you think.
