The oscillator is built from cascaded transistor gain stages with RC coupling between each stage, forming a ring that naturally produces three phase-shifted outputs approximately 120° apart. By operating the transistors in a semi-linear region and tuning the return path resistance, the circuit generates smooth, quasi-sinusoidal to trapezoidal waveforms whose frequency and shape can be adjusted. The result is a fully analog, component-level implementation of a tunable three-phase signal generator suitable for experimentation with motor driving or phase-based control systems.
