The 200k resistor is a photoresistor. So it has a low resistance with light and a hight resistance in the darkness. When we shut down the light the resistance increase and also the voltage drop so it sets high the out pin of a comparator that throught a transistor gives power to a monostable 555 that turns on the Leds giving us time
