This circuit uses a switch with a transistor to reverse the N.O. or N.C. function of a sensor (the switch) I needed the reversed signal of a photo resistor and decided this was the best way to do that without getting to complex or buying new parts.

You power the leds through the base emitter junction. Wtf never seen that before...

what you trying to make? I did a similar behavior using one NPN and one PNP, i use it as a dark sensor for my solar panel battery charger http://everycircuit.com/circuit/4744183993860096
