Can you suggest any circuit for digital io (like arduino, microC) to check 229VAC. I want a safe connection between dc ps and high V ac ps. My goal is to detect ac available only. My circuit is like measure current. Resistor in series with load.Get the voltage difference of two poles resistor. Output if opamp can be measure by arduino ADC or NPN convert to digital output.

I highly recommend a galvanic separation by use of an optocoupler. I am afraid that this project is a little to much for your knowledge. Indication for my feeling is e.g. the wrong peak voltage you expect at mains. Its actually 325V! There are some more things, anyway be very careful.

You should try the LR8. It's a tiny and cheap voltage regulator that can handle about 5-400V (AC and/or DC). Send the output to an opto-coupler and you're ready to connect to your digital input in a save way. I've just used this combination for a commercial project.
