Variable resistor simulates a 10k thermistor. The 200ohm load with the voltmeter attached is the simulated fan. As the temperature rises, the resistance in the thermistor goes down, turning on the npn transistor, allowing current to flow through the fan.

Exist the possibility to realize the most simple temperature 12 vdc fan control using only a ntc like a sensor an lm317 ic and a trimmer to regulate speed at minimum.
