24v volt circuit controlling 4 bulbs.
The low current circuit to the coil then switches the high current to the bulbs.
Advantages are less wear on the switch and smaller control cables.
The diode passes the back EMF through the coil to prevent the Back EMF burning out the switch. This can also be done with a resister.
