This is a copy of my POWER SUPLY and it does NOT do this! If I remove my load it jumps back to 16 Volt 0 Ampers. If I put 2X 12 Volt 55 Watt spot light bulbs on it, the Voltage drops to 10 Volt 8 Ampers. Here are my componets I used to build it. 240 Volt down step transformer, 12 Volt 120 Watt's 12 Volt Ractifier 4 700 micro fared cap 50 Volt 8 600 micro fared cap 100 Volt Diode Please keep in mind!!! The out put Voltage is DC but not the AMPERS. The AMPERS are AC. It range from 0 - 10 Ampers depending on the load appleyd.

Your source is supposed to be 339 volts peak to make a 240 volt rms circuit.

What vehicle works with that voltage?

A vehicle can run what ever it runs, but when you plug into utility it's 170 volts peak for a 120 volt rms circuit, or 339 volts peak for a 240 volt rms circuit. So your not getting real world conditions if you keep up this error.

Your under volting by .707. If you build this in real life your amperage will be 1.414 higher than your diagram. This is because you selected 240 volts PEAK, for a RMS rating. The voltage for a 240 RMS circuit is 339 volts PEAK. The multipliers will most likely not look familiar to you(.707 and 1.414)

My wall outlet is 120 volts RMS, to simulate this on the scope i need the peak rating coming out my wall outlet. To find this i use 120 multiplied by 1.414 = 170(voltage rms x 1.414 = voltage peak)

Can you try the transformer at 7:2 for 170 volts and 339 volts? Let us know.

When i fix the voltage error of using the rms value when the peak value is needed, i get 9.76 volts and 7.6 amps. The error is not the transformer, the error is the source value of '240' when its supposed to be '339'.

Dude were in SouthvAfrica are you going to get a power out let that gives rms out put? Ouer voltage here is 240 Volts Single face or 380 Volts 3 face if there is no load sheding otherwise we have 0 Volts.

In any case I use my HOME made power suply that does not meet YOUR standerds to fix my DJ EQUIPMENT on the go.

O like I said, the simulator does NOT show it in real time. If you read my comment right you wil see that I have DC VOLTS and AC AMPERS. My circuit is build for WATAGE OUT PUT!

RICH11292000 - As far as I know... there is 2 types of power supplied to a house or fabric that are standard. SINGLE PHASE 240 Vac and 3 PHASE 380 Vac. The power supply that I build and still using after 6 years is working just perfect.
