Why does the diode burst off?

You used an LED instead of a diode. The diode has no arrows. The reason it burns up is the leds in this app are configured at 20 ma and 2v. The lamps are at 1.5v and 30mW. So I would purpose changing the leds to diodes and adding resistors in series with the lamps then your circuit would function closer to what you want I think

Th is circuit has many flaws. The LEDs will never light up in any circumstances, it’s 5V logic and the zener are 200V, the LEDs are around the wrong way too. The bulbs are 1:5V driven by 5V logic. One output is dragged down to ground by a 70 Ohm resistor. The a, e and g outputs are joined together by low resistances of lamps and motor. Not sure what you are aiming for but this doesn’t do anything except destroy components.
