Additive vs subtractive polarity in transformer

Can somebody please help me.  When I connect both grounds to the bottom side of each winding. It shows subtractive polarity as I suspect (100v on primary and 10v on secondary) giving 90v on the voltmeter.  However, when I put the ground on the OTHER side of the secondary winding, I would expect the meter to show 110v for additive polarity, yet it only shows 100v.  Why is this?????
