The output of the 555 is something like a current source sometimes and so it charges the capacitors to an infinite voltage

Not in reality just the 555 in the simulation

A simple fix for this problem is to use a push-pull pair of bjt's to buffer the output from the timer. Npn goes on top, pnp goes on the bottom, collectors go to the supply rails, gates go together to form the input emitters go together to form the output. You also need a resistor between the chip and the buffer. I don't why 555s don't have a similar stage integrated.

It would help to have some resistance on the output. Its hard to do math with out numbers.
